    1. Utilization Review: Working for Independent Review Organization. Seeing if procedure, care, treatment is appropriate or standard of care.
      1. Requirements: All specialties. Not obligated to review more than you want. Can be contracted with any number of companies, a couple cases a week. No direct patient care.

      1. Requirements: All specialties. Board certified and practicing in your specialty. Should not be retired.
      2. Compensation: $1000s per hour, reviewing charts and deposition
      3. Pros: Can learn medical-legal.
  3. Medical Writing:
      1. Requirements: All specialties. Ranges from pharmaceutical to content writing to health news to CME writing.

      3. Just try writing and submitting for free, then join American Medical Writer's Association.
  4. Teaching:
      1. Requirements: All specialties.
      2. Compensation: If you want to go full time, you can make up to 6 figures in some of these medical schools. Can also do part time. Getting started is pretty easy.
      3. Can also be content creating online through pre-made courses!
      4. Resources: Consider Toast masters for speaking skills.
  5. Independent Medical Exams:
      1. Requirements: Better if you are Neurology, Neurosurgery, Opthalmology, Ortho, Psychiatry, PM&R. Can be done for employer groups (veterans, pilots are specialized groups within these groups), attorneys.
      2. Pro: Can help with large healthcare based system
      3. Non-requirements: Can get certified in American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME)
  6. Collaborating Physician for Nurse Practitioners
      1. Requirements: For Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry when NPs need a % of their charts to get reviewed if they have independent practice
      2. Resources: Companies that link you together with NPs
      3. On your malpractice insurance of NPs, not yours
  7. Coaching
      1. Coaching and Therapy are different
      2. Requirements: lots of certifications, if you want
      3. If interested, try to find the first few for free and coach to see if you're adding value, impactful. Even before getting coaching classes nor certification
